Born in 1987 in Sarrebourg in Moselle, currently lives in Paris. He pursued theoretical studies in performing arts at the University of Strasbourg before joining the scenography section of the École du Théâtre National de Strasbourg (2008-2011). In 2015, he made his staging debut with ”Pièces courtes 1-9” in the form of a theatrical program that questions the minimal conditions of its own realization. Created in the fall of 2016, “Music dictionary” extends this questioning of theater and its resources through the presence and history of other mediums. “The birth of tragedy” (2018) is a solo for and by actor Julien Geffroy. “Musical Ideas” (2020) is an experimental musical recital. Since 2018, he has been working on a long-term project, “Theories and Practices of Acting (1428-2021)”, a living library for the art of acting in 28 chapters. “4 questions to Yoshi Oida” (2022) extends these questions of theatrical anthropology in another way.
Maxime Kurvers was an associate artist at the Ménagerie de verre for the 2016-2017 season, a resident artist at the Saison Foundation in 2020, and was associated with the Commune - CDN d'Aubervilliers from 2016 to 2023.
