Maxime Kurvers, born in 1987 in Sarrebourg, Moselle, currently lives in Paris. In 2015, Short pieces 1-9 was his first stage production, in the form of a theatrical programme questioning the minimal conditions of his own production. Created in 2016, Music dictionary  extends this questioning of the theatre and its resources through the presence and history of other media. The birth of tragedy (2018) is a solo for and by actor Julien Geffroy. Musical ideas (2020) is an experimental musical recital. Since 2018, he has been working on a long-term project, Theories and practices of acting (1428-2020), a living library for the art of acting in 28 chapters. 4 questions to Yoshi Oida (2022) extends these questions of theatrical anthropology in other ways. Okina (2024) is a solo performance for Japanese actress Yuri Itabashi, based on the eponymous Noh play which to this day remains off-limits to female actors. Maxime Kurvers is associate artist at the Ménagerie de verre for the 2016-2017 season, resident artist at Saison Foundation Tokyo in 2020 and associate artist at La Commune - CDN d'Aubervilliers from 2016 to 2023. In May 2026, the T2G - théâtre de Gennevilliers presents Travail théâtral, a retrospective of his work to date

MDCCCLXXI works to produce and tour the theatrical and extra-theatrical projects of Maxime Kurvers. The company's work interrogates art and theater as a social laboratory, aiming to put into perspective - through the theatrical medium itself - ways of "world-making."
